Pigeon blood discus
Pigeon Blood Discus
Scientific Name: Symphysodon spp.
The Pigeon Blood Discus is one of the most recognizable and popular discus varieties, prized for its brilliant red-orange coloration contrasted against a creamy white to yellow base. Depending on the individual fish, beautiful red patterning may cover much of the body and fins, creating a bold appearance that becomes even more impressive as the fish matures.
Pigeon Blood Discus are peaceful, social fish that thrive in warm, clean water with stable parameters. They do best when kept with other discus and compatible peaceful tankmates. Excellent water quality and a varied, high-quality diet will encourage healthy growth and help develop their vibrant coloration.
